Community Conversation: Making Effective Assessments

I shared an afternoon discussing strategies for assessing possibilities in this season of change with civic leader, Jacqui Jones of Create Birmingham.

Here is the replay.

I referenced a few books and websites during our conversation. Here they are:

City of Birmingham Performance Assessment: www.birminghamal.gov/strategy

Book: The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek

Book: Crafting & Executing Strategy by Dr. Lonnie Strickland

If you are taking personal assessment of your current situation in life, then I also recommend the book Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind. The book requires focus to read, but really does support a reset of your thinking to that place when you first arrived. We accumulate a lot of baggage into the spaces we occupy.

Taking time to think about your thinking is incredibly important and can be relieving when you finally give yourself permission to let some things go or to embrace new strategies for your life and business.
